What is exempt from a Building Permit?

- One story detached accessory structures (ex. shed) less than 400 sq. ft. - Fences not over 6’ in height - Retaining walls not over 4’ measured from the bottom of the footing - Water tanks directly on the ground, not over 5,000 gallons - Sidewalks and driveways, with certain conditions. Please note, although a Building Permit is not required for each of the above, a Zoning Clearance Permit is required. Typically, a $15 fee for each item.
