After a long process, the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan has received preliminary FEMA approval. The next step is to allow for public review and comment which started on Sunday, October 8th and runs until Tuesday, October 31st. Once the public comment period has concluded, Yavapai County Office of Emergency Management will review the comments. Those with any significant value may be added via an Annex (that does not require FEMA review). They can then move forward with adopting the plan in their respective jurisdictions which will be the final part of this process.
You can review the plan and provide feedback via the survey here: www.yavapaiaz.gov/publicworks/emergency-management.
