Full Time/Exempt; Hiring Range: $50,000 to $58,300 annually
The Town of Dewey-Humboldt is seeking a team-oriented leader to serve as Town Clerk. Located in the natural beauty and unsurpassed climate of Arizona’s Upper Agua Fria Valley, the Town of Dewey- Humboldt became incorporated in December 2004.
The Town Clerk is appointed by the Town Manager. The Town Clerk prepares and coordinates agenda materials and packets; serves as the official scribe for the Mayor and Council; drafts communications to the Town Council and members of the public on behalf of the Town Manager; coordinates travel and training and manages calendars for elected and appointed officials; provides support to the boards, commissions and committees appointed by the governing body; ensures that Open Meeting Law requirements are met by all public bodies of the Town; acts as the official record keeper for Town documents; coordinates municipal elections with the County; and administers the duties of a Town Clerk as prescribed by state statute for a Common Council (non-charter) town.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience in an Arizona Municipal or County Clerk office or similar setting with progressive responsibility for all aspects of a Clerk’s office. This positive thinking individual will be a self-starter who is able to flow through a variety of tasks under pressure. S/He is organized and possess outstanding communication and administrative skills, critical thinking abilities, and exceptional interpersonal qualities. Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) status, or ability to obtain a CMC within three years, is desirable. The salary is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
