The Central Arizona Honor Guard and Pipes & Drums performed at the grand opening event. CAFMA Chief Scott Freitag and select dignitaries, including Dewey-Humboldt's Mayor Terry Nolan, were on hand for the building dedication. The dignitaries symbolized the event with an “uncoupling” of two fire hoses that were stretched between fire engines.
The new CAFMA office space has 10,000 square feet and has 144 full-time employees. The previous space for Station 53 located at 8555 E. Yavapai Road will remain a working fire station.
