Help your neighborhood become "FIREWISE". Fire is a recognizable danger our community faces every day.
The Town of Dewey-Humboldt is cooperating with the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) and Prescott Area Wildland Urban Interface Commission (PAWUIC) in achieving FIREWISE certification for the Town, starting with two neighborhoods (Northeast Foothills and Blue Hills). A number of property owners have had their properties assessed by CAFMA and are qualifying for grant funding to complete abatement of fire hazards.
The Firewise Board has submitted their application for certification to the National Firewise Commission, and expect to receive notice of their certification the first of 2017. Certification willl place the Firewise Board in a position to partner with PAWUIC, CAFMA and others to apply for grant funding to do abatement.
The FIREWISE board is meeting the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., at the Town Hall Council Chambers at 2735 S. Highway 69, in Humboldt at the corner of Main and Highway 69. Please plan on attending. Call Beth Evans at 928-632-7362, to learn how to participate in the program and make your neighborhood "FIREWISE".
