In December 2012, the Dewey-Humboldt Historical Society opened the door of the Dewey-Humboldt Museum which was located at 12925 East Main Street, Humboldt. The Museum successfully operated in that location until July 2017, when the building was sold. The Historical Society has a location for their new museum to be built. It is located on Highway 69 just south of Billy Jack's Saloon. The Historical Society’s larger mining equipment is currently on display at the property.
The Dewey-Humboldt Town Council supports the Historical Society’s efforts in many ways including monetary support to the Historical Society during this transitional period, as well as other local events and fundraising efforts.
